French Prime Minister François Bayrou stated Wednesday before a parliamentary committee that he was unaware of any sexual abuse allegations at a Catholic school in southwestern France during his tenure as education minister from 1993 to 1997. Bayrou said he only learned of the claims through media reports and had not received any official information at the time.
