French President trying to show he also ‘exists in France’ amidst confusion over pension reform

French president Emmanuel Macron said the controversial pension reform would not be repealed or suspended, drawing criticism from opposition parties as the prime minister had promised its suspension. But confusion over the pension reform mirrors the uncertainty that dominates budget discussions in the National Assembly, as MPs race to find an agreement before the end of the year.
