At least 44 people were killed in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to rescuers. This comes a day after desperate Palestinians looted a World Food Programme warehouse in the heart of the territory. After over two months of blockade, aid has started to slowly return to Gaza, but the humanitarian crisis reaches its summit following 18 months of devastating conflict. Food security experts warn that one in five people is at risk of starvation.
