The UN’s top court, the International Court of Justice, on Wednesday ruled that Israel must ensure the basic needs of Palestinians living in Gaza and allow UN aid agencies to enter the enclave. The ruling, which the court says carries “great legal weight and moral authority”, comes amid a fragile-US-brokered ceasefire in the war-torn territory.
