It looks like Halle Berry dodged a bullet!
Ryan Murphy‘s new legal drama All’s Fair is the most talked about show on TV, but not for the best reasons. And Halle was almost a part of it! For those who don’t know, the Oscar-winning actress was supposed to star in AND executive produce the show, alongside Kim Kardashian and Glenn Close! It was quite a coup for Murphy, as it would have been one of the only regular television roles of the movie star’s career.
However, news broke in July 2024 that Halle would no longer be a part of the show! An individual with knowledge of the situation claimed to Variety that she left due to a “scheduling conflict”. Sarah Paulson, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor, and Naomi Watts were later added to the cast, but Deadline reported none of the women were replacing Halle’s role following her departure. They got new parts instead. Hmm…

We wonder who Halle was set to play! Another character maybe? We also can’t help but ask: Did she really bounce from the project due to her busy schedule? Or did she know she needed to jump ship to avoid disaster?
See, the first three episodes of the show premiered this week. The reviews for it also dropped, and they’re absolutely abysmal! The legal drama received zero-star ratings, with critics calling it “the worst TV drama ever,” “existentially terrible,” a “disaster zone,” and more! It even got a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes right after the debut! Damn! That’s so rare it’s kind of an accomplishment!
With the series getting brutally trashed only a few episodes in, it makes you wonder if Halle low-key knew it wasn’t good early on, right??
The Catwoman star didn’t give anything away when she addressed her exit from All’s Fair a month after the announcement! Back in August 2024, she told Entertainment Tonight during the premiere of her movie The Union:
“You know, things happen for a reason.”
LOLz! In this new context, that actually sounds like some shady relief spilling out! But she was actually totally gracious, saying:
“I would’ve loved to have been there with those ladies, [and] I know it’s gonna be great. [It’s] Ryan Murphy! I mean, you know, duh. But next time!”
We bet Halle is glad she left the project now — and we’re thinking there may not be a “next time” with Ryan after all! If she really did fake a scheduling conflict, or even create one on purpose, that’s pretty cold… but as they say, All’s Fair, right?
