Here It Is! See Liam Payne In The Trailer For Netflix’s Controversial New Show!

It’s finally arrived… The trailer for Netflix’s new show — featuring the final TV appearance of Liam Payne!

On Monday, the streaming giant dropped the first preview of their controversial new singing competition called Building the Band. Liam serves as a judge alongside Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger, and the objective of the show is simple: find the next One Direction-like boy band and girl band! You can watch Liam comb through contestants (below):

As we’ve been following, there’s been a TON of controversy surrounding the project. Netflix was initially unsure if they’d ever actually air it in the wake of the Strip That Down singer’s shocking death. But in January, they made the bold decision they WERE moving forward with it… Without the consent of the Payne family. An insider told RadarOnline at the time:

“Liam’s family are furious with how this has played out. The series is obviously sensitive for them so they wanted to watch it in full and discuss certain elements to it before the series goes to air. But Netflix are just ploughing ahead without his family being given the final seal of approval, which has upset those closest to Liam.”

Yeesh. Other sources assured at the time that the show is a “celebration of Liam” and “an image of positivity,” so we can only hope the Paynes end up feeling that way. Either way, it’s great to see the late singer’s smile again.
