Save 20%: The Loftie alarm clock is getting a rare discount this October Prime Day — as of Oct. 7, its priced dropped to $135.99, slashing $34 off its usual $169.99 price tag.
Let’s get one thing straight: $165 is an objectively stupid price to pay for an alarm clock. I’m willing to acknowledge that.
However, I’m also willing to stand by my purchase of the Loftie alarm clock, and genuinely think it’s one of the smartest purchases I’ve ever made. For one, there is a case to be made for investing in sleeping well — and waking up peacefully. There’s also a case to be made for softening the blow of the price tag by buying this clock on sale. I bought mine refurbished, but this rare October Prime Day deal also helps, shaving $34 off the price and bringing the clock down to $135.99.
A great reason to pick up an alarm clock in the first place is to give yourself the freedom of leaving your phone outside of your bedroom at night. Though it’s technically a smart clock and compatible with an app, the Loftie clock can be used solely as a non-companion app device after the initial setup, making it perfect for my purposes.
Maybe the best part is the alarm tones — one of the reasons I struggled to kick my phone habit is that I hate being jolted awake, and I hate ruining the sound of listening to music in an effort to set a song I like as an alarm. Loftie truly accomplished the impossible in its “getup” and “wakeup tones,” which are soothing sounds that play at a preset interval (I preferred the three-minute setting) to lull you into consciousness. It is the sonic equivalent of the sun softly lighting up a room, and that alone makes this alarm clock worth every penny to me.
Other features include: a Bluetooth speaker that can stream audio from your phone, a red mode for the display, a night light, great customer service, sleep machine sounds and guided meditations, and a bed signal to remind you to wind down. Plus, it looks great on a nightstand.
