In Burundi, the media has not fully bounced back from the political turmoil of 2015. Journalists were among the first to flee when the government cracked down on protests against then-President Pierre Nkurunziza’s disputed third term. Now, with local elections scheduled for June 5, many believe that fear continues to loom over the press. A Burundian journalist, speaking anonymously, spoke to our correspondent Juliette Montilly.
