Influencer Liv Schmidt — known as Skinni Societe — is facing a lot of backlash online!
Last week, the 23-year-old content creator posted a video to social media, in which she told her followers the horrible trick she plays on people who she thinks are overweight! She wrote over top a video of herself in a workout class:
“Being a girls girl is giving obese people the wrong directions so they walk more.”
She added in the caption:
“That is true kindness”

That is not being a girl’s girl. It’s just mean girl behavior, and we are not the only ones who think so. The video sparked a ton of outrage from people online, with many calling it “cruel,” “tone deaf,” and “dangerous.” Others said:
“How do you preach about being a girls girl whilst mocking other women’s bodies?”
“The irony is painful.”
More people took to Reddit to further bash Liv, writing:
“I honestly can’t feel anything but bad for this girl. What a deeply unhappy person she obviously is.”
“What the actual f**k. As someone whose been hospitalized for being so underweight from their ED. This is so f**king harmful and is the kind of stuff that violently fuels this growing fire of normalized disordered behavior”
“This is a new low for someone already seriously mean and terrible. Liv Schmidt is awful.”
“She’s vile, period. I’m all for healthy lifestyles and habits but she’s mean, nasty and horrid.”
“I mean literally how could anyone who’s following her see this and continue to follow”
“This is really f**ked up and shows that Liv is not a good person”
“I swear my brain refuses to believe this is real. Unbelievable….”
“My jaw is on the floor.”
“This is f**king weird. Wtf.”
At this time, Liv has not issued an apology. Instead, she took to Instagram Stories on Saturday to respond to the controversy and say it was a joke:
“The whole joke guys is that they aren’t walking they are taking the bus, the car, an uber, a taxi. The whole problem is they aren’t walking.”
Yeah, no one is laughing at that. It’s just a rude and unnecessary post to make in the first place. See her response (below):
