The official broadcasters are currently saying it is a “technical failure”. One of the floodlight towers stopped working first before two more followed suit. At present, only one floodlight tower is working there at the venue. Talking about the game, Punjab Kings are off to a flying start against Delhi Capitals in their IPL 2025 game at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. Earlier, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat. This is the first time in 14 years at the venue that a team winning the toss has opted to bat first. The only instance of a similar decision goes back to 2011 when Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced each other.
