Ireland: excavation of mass grave believed to hold remains of nearly 800 infants begins

Excavations have begun in Ireland at the site of a former Church-run home for unwed mothers. The land is expected to contain the remains of hundreds of infants and young children. The planned 2-year investigation comes more than a decade after a historian first uncovered evidence of a mass grave at the site. Story by Clemence Waller.
