A ceasefire between Israel and Hamas came into effect in Gaza on Friday, following Cabinet approval of a deal to pause fighting and exchange the remaining hostages for Palestinian prisoners. The first hostage releases are expected soon. However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has remained vague on whether this marks the end of the war, offering no clear commitment to a full cessation of hostilities as FRANCE 24’s Noga Tarnopolsky explains.
