Three years ago, on October 22nd, 2022, Giorgia Meloni was sworn in before the President of the Republic and stood before Parliament, pledging “freedom, justice, prosperity, and security for all Italians.” Since then, the prevailing narrative has depicted her government as firm and successful — one that “delivers on its promises.” According to Lorenzo Pregliasco, co-founder of the polling agency YouTrend and adjunct professor at the University of Bologna, the enduring popularity of Meloni and the center-right coalition “is quite exceptional in the European landscape, where most incumbent governments have seen their approval ratings decline.”
