With 89.77% of the vote, President Alassane Ouattara has been re-elected for a fourth term, pending validation by the Constitutional Council. Despite fears of eruptions following the election, the situation has remained calm, and life is gradually returning to normal. Approximately half of the electorate turned out to vote, and Ouattara, who has led the country since 2011, is set to continue in office. Justice Baidoo has the details from Abidjan.
