JoJo Siwa may not have a hit on her hands! Not after the reaction she received to a teaser of an upcoming song!
You may recall that amid the romance rumors between JoJo and Chris Hughes, the 22-year-old singer performed a cover of Kim Carnes‘ 1981 classic, Bette Davis Eyes, at her concert in Mexico City in May. However, JoJo sang the song with a twist! She pulled a Taylor Swift and switched out the lyrics to give a shoutout to her lover! Right in front of him, too! At the end of the chorus, she belted out “Chris Hughes’s eyes” instead. Relive the moment (below):
Months after the performance, it appears JoJo wants to release the cover! She posted a video to TikTok on Monday of herself lip-syncing to her version of the track — fully decked out in what fans described as “trad wife” garb! She rocked her signature blonde locks, but not in a ponytail! Instead, she had a short curly bob. She also sported a string of pearls with a blue ruffled crop top. As said, it gives trad wife!

It wasn’t only the look that caught the attention of social media users, though! They also had a lot to say about her voice… and not great things! Unfortunately, JoJo did not receive a positive reaction to her clip, unlike she did with her live performance! The wonderful comments from the concert are apparently the whole reason she’s even considering dropping the song! The Dance Moms alum wrote in the caption of the clip:
“After performing this song live and then seeing the beautiful response to it, I decided to go record a studio vocal…. I’m undecided if I should release it on Spotify or not…. Would you want me to?!!! if you would, I’m thinking maybe end of this week?”

As we mentioned, people did not have a “beautiful response” to the video! Fans ripped it apart in the comments section, everything from her new era to her vocals! It’s brutal! See the reactions (below):

At least JoJo will have one happy listener if she releases the song! And if it comes out on Friday, everyone will need to listen carefully to see if she inserts the “Chris Hughes’s eyes” lyric again!
