Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s post-breakup reunion in Italy was far from spontaneous — it was actually planned months ago!
Over the holiday weekend, the pop star and the actor were spotted together on a luxurious yacht in Italy with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez. It was definitely a shock to see since they announced their breakup just days before! And we’d known about it for longer than that, of course. What were they doing on vacay together??
Everyone assumed — since Katy and Lauren are good pals — that they’d been invited to crash the newlyweds’ honeymoon. But according to insiders, it was Katy and Orlando’s trip from the start, and it had been planned for months — far before they pulled the plug on their relationship.

On Tuesday, a source explained to DailyMail.com that the pair were not joining Jeff and Lauren on their honeymoon, rather it was the newlyweds that joined Katy and Orlando briefly on a yacht off the Amalfi Coast. The exes were in the area following through on their vacation plans — and Lauren hopped on the helicopter to fly from yacht to yacht and support her friend.
Katy and Orlando were spending time as a family, but he had a bit more on his side of the fam. Orly’s 14-year-old son Flynn Bloom — who he shares with model Miranda Kerr — was there, along with the Lord of the Rings star’s sister Samantha and manager Aleen Keshishian. No mention of daughter Daisy Dove, but presumably she was below deck being kept safe from the harsh Mediterranean sun. Sounds like a party, just… an awkward one.
The holiday getaway was initially planned all the way back in May, per the insider. While the writing may have been on the wall already, they technically were still together at the time, per this source. Or maybe they were in the middle of breaking up? Not super clear. These things are messy. But insiders said it was definitely at least “dire” by April, so when they were planning in May, this was already considered a kind of breakup trip.
