Aw! Katy Perry was caught getting SUPER emotional on stage. Was she crying about Orlando Bloom?! The timing…
Now that the formerly engaged couple has called it quits, a video of the pop star giving it her all on stage — even through tears — has resurfaced! In the clip, Katy is mid-performance in Mexico City in April on her Lifetimes Tour singing Pearl when she gets so choked up she has to pull her mic away from her mouth to cry without everyone hearing. And the heartbreak was written all over her face!

The lyrics were also super sad as she belts about becoming a “shell” of herself in a relationship with a controlling man. She sings:
“Cause I used to be a shell / Yeah, I let him rule my world my world, ohh, yeah / But I woke up and grew strong / And I can still go on / And no one can take my pearl”

Poor thing!
Fans were really sorry to see Katy so in her feels, commenting:
“I feel so bad for her, like actually. I don’t like her music (especially 143) but let’s emphasize with her… she’s a human too”

“She was been so strong in that moment. A queen if you ask me”
While nobody knows what Katy was crying about on that stage, it’s not hard to imagine it was her love life! We heard from one source that they broke up a couple months ago, in April. The vid is only getting traction now — it was originally uploaded on April 26. Huh.
And according to The US Sun, they were over even before the Grammy nominee headed out on the road! She reportedly started telling friends the relationship was done beginning in January! They didn’t go public with the news right away out of hopes they could resolve things, but that wasn’t the case.
So this may have been a couple months after the breakup… but giving all that emotion to her crowds onstage brought it all to the surface? Makes sense to us!
It’s especially difficult when you consider sources have said her career was part of the reason for the breakup. Aside from her busy schedule keeping them apart, Orlando was also reportedly against the tour and many of her career choices — resulting in big fights. It’s gotta be difficult to get on stage every night and put on a show when you know it’s one thing tearing your relationship apart!
We hope she’s not too emotional at her upcoming concerts this weekend! While she’s busy working, her baby daddy is going to be off partying like a single guy at the wedding of the year! That hurts!
