Tatu City is a privately built and managed urban development near Nairobi, designed to attract investment and offer modern infrastructure where public services are often lacking. Run by the firm Rendeavour, it hosts 25,000 residents and workers, drawing a large share of Kenya’s foreign investment. But while touted as a model for Africa’s urban future, it has also sparked criticism over transparency, inequality, and ongoing legal and financial controversies.
