Kevin Federline is out here doing more memoir-related promo interviews that’ll make even the least dedicated Britney Army member’s jaw hit the floor.
The former backup dancer turned professional ex just claimed in a recent chat that his new tell-all memoir You Thought You Knew — ya know, the same one packed with stories about Britney Spears‘ alleged past behavior — is somehow going to HELP his sons bond with their mom. Excuse us??

In a new chat on Talk Shop Live, K-Fed got real about the ongoing family drama surrounding Britney and the ex-couple’s two sons, 20-year-old Sean Preston and 19-year-old Jayden James. According to him, despite everything that’s gone down (and there’s been a LOT), the boys are still hoping to patch things up with the Princess of Pop.
Of the boys, Federline told the interviewer during Monday’s discussion:
“They absolutely love their mom, right? I mean, they always, always have, always will. It’s instilled in them. And I’ve always wanted for them to have a connection with their mom, the way I have with my mom.”
Sweet, right?
But then Kevin pivoted straight into defending his book. Yes, the same one Britney herself hasn’t been too shy to slam as alleged fake news. And this time around, Kevin insisted that airing out their dirty laundry in print might actually be the key to repairing Brit’s fractured relationship his her kids. Seriously.
As he explained:
“I know that a lot of people think that this book hurts that situation, but we’ve done everything else. We’ve tried every single thing. And when you’re dealing with a situation like this, if I have to be the bad guy and everybody has to hate me, well, so be it. I’ll do that for my kids to be able to have a relationship with their mother.”
What the…?! Well, that’s one way to legitimize writing the memoir in the first place, we suppose. With it, it seems like Kevin basically thinks that being the villain in Britney’s story will somehow bring everyone closer together. Hmmm.
He also claimed the memoir has nudged some baby steps toward communication between Britney and the boys, saying:
“We haven’t talked specifically, but I know that she’s talked to our sons, which is good.”
Well, that part is good. (If it’s even true???)
And yet despite all the chaos — and the years of back-and-forth between ’em — he’s still holding onto hope. K-Fed added:
“I’m really hoping that through all of this — through all this turmoil — that there’s light at the end of the tunnel. I see it, but it’s gonna be a difficult road and it’s gonna take time.”
Whew.
We’re honestly surprised he sees it like that, because we don’t. After all, writing a book full of bombshell accusations about Britney’s private life doesn’t exactly scream “healing energy.”
But maybe that’s just us! And we could be wrong! What do U think, Perezcious readers?! Is this a genuine attempt at family repair, or just another chapter in this never-ending saga? Sound OFF with your takes (below)!
