A quick-thinking employee at a Jersey Mike’s restaurant in Navarre, Florida helped save a woman from the worst imaginable scenario after uncovering a kidnapping thanks to a desperate note left in the sub shop’s bathroom.
Last Tuesday, a woman named Eleanor Coffee (pictured above, left) was working her normal shift at the sub shop in Navarre. At one point, she went into the bathroom during her workday and found a crumpled-up note that had been frantically and haphazardly written — and begging for help!
Thinking quickly, she alerted the authorities. Cops then sprung into action, executed a search warrant on the address in question that had been referenced in the note, and discovered a woman there who had been kidnapped. Whoa!!!
Speaking to local news outlet My NBC 15 after the fact, Coffee recalled how she went into the bathroom only to discover a “little piece of crumpled up paper that was shoved next to our toilet paper dispenser, and it looked like a piece of trash.”
As Coffee explained to the news outlet, the note read in part:
“She was like, ‘Please help me. I’m at this address in Navarre. I need you to call the police and do a wellness check.’”
An arrest report later obtained by Law & Crime confirmed the note also said:
“Please help get me home! HELP! Get me before May 30th!”
So freakin’ scary…
As you might expect, Coffee was absolutely terrified. But she did the right thing — and she did it right away! She called the cops, who responded to the store to investigate. When officers showed up, Coffee and other Jersey Mike’s employees pulled up store surveillance camera footage to show cops who they thought might have left the note.
According to Navarre police chief Randy Tifft, the note and its apparent writer matched up just like Coffee described it. There were several key details in the message which made it easier for the police to find the home in question where the unnamed victim was allegedly being held against her will. Tifft said:
“[The woman] left her name and address, of where she was going to be at, what kind of car would be in the driveway. So, she left a lot of details in the notes, so we could come to her and help her.”
When cops started digging around on the address in question, they came across the identities of the woman involved, as well as a 34-year-old man named Jordan Williams (pictured above, right, in his mugshot). According to a press release later shared by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, Williams — who is a professional independent wrestler (seriously) — is well-known to local authorities as having “a documented history with our agency of domestic violence incidents.” Scary…

Thankfully, when cops moved in on the house, they were able to arrest Williams without a confrontation. The woman who had left behind the note was found at the house, too. Per the sheriff’s office release, she told cops that she had indeed written the note, and she’d suffered a “prolonged period of abuse” leading up to her discovery. The release continued:
“She detailed repeated assaults, threats involving weapons, and being held in isolation by Williams for a span of several months. Deputies observed visible injuries, and the victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment of suspected broken bones and other trauma.”
Isolation for a span of several MONTHS?!?! Holy s**t!
Per the arrest report, the victim’s mother claimed Williams had been controlling her daughter’s movements for a while. The victim, who supposedly suffered from both bipolar disorder and a brain tumor as well, had allegedly been held captive by Williams at previous times, too. Furthermore, the victim’s ex-husband also told cops the indie wrestler allegedly “threatened to kill his children and his family,” per the arrest report. Jeez…
Williams was booked on multiple felony charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping/false imprisonment, battery, and battery by strangulation. He is also facing a misdemeanor charge of battery, as well.

Thank goodness for the victim’s quick thinking to leave behind that note!
And for the heroic Jersey Mike’s employee who found the note, recognized it could have been legit, and took immediate action to save that woman from what could have been such a horrible ending!!
