LeAnn Rimes is looking back on all the backlash she received years ago after her affair with Eddie Cibrian was exposed!
Perezcious readers know the country music star met Eddie back in 2008 while filming the Lifetime movie Northern Lights and began a relationship. The problem with their romance? They were both married — LeAnn to Dean Sheremet, while the actor was with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Brandi Glanville.
Rumors of the affair began in 2009. Eddie initially denied the claims, saying it was nothing more than “a fabricated story that is using random snapshots as connective tissue to create a scandalous relationship.” However, everyone saw right through the BS! There was video proof of their infidelity!
Things were ugly for a long time afterward! Brandi couldn’t even stand LeAnn (or any of the other women Eddie cheated on her with)! And in return, many women couldn’t either! They took the Bravo personality’s side in the drama and made sure the Blue singer knew it! And in a candid interview with Flow Space this month, LeAnn reflected on the “craziness” she and Eddie went through during the affair scandal! Especially when it came to the public’s reaction!

Looking back, LeAnn understands why a lot of people had a strong response to the controversy. No one likes a cheater! Just ask Tom Sandoval! But at the same time, she feels it was too harsh and unfair for folks to attack her:
“I realized very quickly that there are a lot of women who’ve been hurt. Like, I’ve been on both sides of that coin—I’ve been cheated on, too, so I know that feeling.”
LeAnn knows what it is like to be cheated on, and yet inflicted the same pain on someone else. Oof. Not girls, girl behavior. She continued:
“But so many women don’t know what to do with that anger… I was a target that was just easily projected upon. And once I realized that, things got a lot easier. Instead of taking it so personally, it’s like, look: This is not all my pain to carry. I know what I’m responsible for in the situation and making amends for that. But you know, the world’s pain is not mine to carry, and I think that really got thrown at me for a long time.”
Hmm…
We feel Brandi would not entirely agree with her take! LeAnn did get with her husband after all! But considering all parties involved are in a good place these days, perhaps she’ll keep her thoughts on LeAnn’s comments to herself, or at least only say something privately?
