France 24 correspondent Jan Camenzind Broomby reports from Seoul following the stunning election on Tuesday of Lee Jae-myung to be the next South Korean president. South Koreans hope Lee will constitute a symbol of hope for democracy following former President Yoon Suk Yeol’s disastrous attempt at imposing martial law in December, which led to his impeachment and rocked South Korea’s political landscape.
