Liam Gallagher has responded after Green Day kicked a fan off the stage for playing an Oasis song.
The moment took place on Monday night (June 30), when Green Day were playing at the Luxexpo venue in Luxembourg and, in keeping in with tradition, invited a fan from the crowd onto the stage to play guitar on show closer ‘Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)’.
Things went a bit off track this time, though, as a fan joined Billie Joe Armstrong and co. for the rendition and, instead of playing the Green Day hit, he started to play the intro to the hit Oasis song ‘Wonderwall’.
“Oh, fuck me,” the frontman said into the microphone, taking the guitar away from him. “Nice try,” he added, as the fan was ushered off stage by a member of security.

Funnily enough, the Gallagher brothers have said that they think more bands should cover Oasis tracks when playing live before. Back in 2011, for instance, Noel Gallagher quipped that bands like Foo Fighters, Green Day and Radiohead should consider adding some of his songs to their set.
“I’ve always thought most bands should play Oasis songs, anyway. The Foo Fighters should definitely do a couple,” he said. “Green Day could do even more than one or two. Radiohead? I mean, let’s face it. It’d be a better night out.”
For Green Day, the slot in Luxembourg came following a huge headline set at Download 2025, and as part of their ongoing European tour dates.
For Oasis, the nod to ‘Wonderwall’ at the pop-punk show came as the members are currently gearing up to kick off the first night of the giant reunion tour at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Friday (July 4).
Also celebrating the upcoming comeback shows is UK supermarket Aldi, which renamed a Manchester branch “Aldeh” in honour of the upcoming reunion tour. The new sign comes along with “90s-inspired bucket hats” complete with an Aldimania logo.
Earlier this week, Oasis teased that additional tickets to the tour could be on sale soon, with production releases being made available in the coming days.
