US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner have returned to Israel amid the fragile ceasefire in Gaza. The just over week-old truce faced its first real test this weekend as Israel launched a number of deadly strikes on the enclave after two of its soldiers were killed in an attack it blamed on Hamas. Israel temporarily prevented aid from reaching the territory but reopened at least one border crossing on Monday morning.
