Love Island USA’s Jeremiah Reacts To Cierra’s Exit Amid ‘Weird’ Racial Slur Controversy

Jeremiah Brown has thoughts on Cierra Ortega‘s racial slur controversy!

Cierra was removed from the villa during Sunday night’s episode of Love Island USA after resurfaced social media posts showed her using a slur directed at Asians. When questioned about the controversy during a TikTok Live on Monday, Jeremiah had a very direct response to the alleged racism, declaring:

“I don’t condone no type of racial slurs, brother. That racial stuff is weird to me, bro. I have been dealing with that my whole life, bro. Racial stuff is never cool.”

Amen! We appreciate he isn’t making some wishy washy politician statement on this.

Interestingly, Jeremiah has been hanging out with several co-stars since his exit from the show, including Austin Shepard… who had to address his own racism allegations!

He was also seen with Belle-A Walker, who took a strong stance against Cierra, writing on her Instagram Story earlier this week:

“As a proud Asian American woman, I’m deeply appreciative of the Love Island USA producers for taking a stand and making it clear that racism of any kind is not tolerated. When I first saw what my fellow Islander said on their social media pages, I was incredibly heartbroken.”

Despite initially wanting to wait until her friend was off the show and could speak for herself, Belle-A could no longer stay silent:

“As screenshots continued to surface, it became clear that I could no longer support this person, and made the decision to unfollow them a couple of days ago. Asian hate is oftentimes overlooked and dismissed. But being a first-generation American, I have personally witnessed and experienced how real and hurtful comments like these are.”

Meanwhile, Cierra’s parents have asked fans to stop the hate. While they did not want to “justify or ignore what’s surfaced” and understand “accountability matters,” they stressed in their own statement:

“What’s happening online right now has gone far beyond that. The threats. The cruel messages. The attacks on her family, her friends, even her supporters, it’s heartbreaking. It’s uncalled for. And no one deserves that kind of hate, no matter what mistake they’ve made.”

Cierra has not yet commented on the scandal since her departure.
