France’s Justice Minister described last week’s killing of Mehdi Kessaci in Marseille as a terrifying tipping point, one that should raise public awareness about the dangers of narcotrafficking. Kessaci, 20 years old, was shot dead in Marseille, as he was sitting in his car in the city’s 4th district when a series of gunshots targeted him. He was the younger brother of Marseille activist and environmentalist Amine Kessaci. Eliza Herbert has this story.
