Meghan Markle Rejected By A-Lister — Even Inviting Her On Netflix Show Was Seen As A HUGE Insult! Ouch!

Meghan Markle was snubbed by a famous singer after asking them to be on her Netflix show!

According to celeb commentator Kinsey Schofield during Friday’s episode of The Nerve with Maureen Callahan, the Duchess of Sussex wanted none other than Dolly Parton on her cooking series With Love, Meghan. Makes sense to us! Who doesn’t want Dolly??

But the ask was apparently seen as a huge insult to Dolly and her team! Oof!

Kinsley recalled that Dolly’s “team was livid,” remarking:

“Because no, they don’t want to risk Dolly’s reputation Q score [and] her popularity by associating with Meghan Markle.”

Damn!

She added:

“They knew that this ask was just to give Meghan Markle credibility in this lifestyle space, a space that Dolly does have a lot of credibility in.”

Along with being a beloved country singer, Dolly’s found a ton of success in the lifestyle space via various baking mixes, frozen foods, and beauty products. She has so many different business ventures — she’s crushing it all! Kinsley pointed out:

“Dolly is not only incredibly popular and loved by the general public, but she also is somebody who can float around within these different places.”

So, it was a natural fit for Meg’s lifestyle show, which is all about cooking, decorating, and hosting. No wonder the Confessions of a Female Founder podcaster wanted the musician — but it wasn’t gonna happen!

As for why the 79-year-old’s camp was so offended by the cameo request, the commentator noted:

“Her team really feels like Meghan was trying to take advantage of her popularity.”

This wouldn’t be the first time the Suits alum was accused of that! The podcast host agreed, calling Dolly “authentic” and arguing it would’ve been a “spontaneous combustion of good versus evil” if she had agreed to appear with “a fake royal” in her “fake kitchen.” Burn!

The first season of the As Ever founder’s show ended up being a success and earned her a second season — and there are rumors she might get another season, too. Whoa. The first episodes included celebrity guests such as her former co-star Abigail Spencer and Mindy Kaling. Dolly would’ve been a HUGE get, so we’re not shocked Meghan tried! Nothing wrong with taking a big swing, right? But it sounds like it royally backfired! Safe to say Dolly will never be making an appearance on the mother-of-two’s podcast either…
