Meghan Markle’s Vogue Cover Demands That ‘Not Even Beyoncé’ Gets Revealed: REPORT

Meghan Markle reportedly REALLY wanted a Vogue cover in 2022… But her demands were impossible!

New reports have emerged detailing a bitter falling out between the Duchess of Sussex and her former pal Edward Enninful, editor-in-chief of British Vogue… All over the Suits star’s “high expectations.” According to DailyMail.com, Vogue had plans to showcase Meghan and Prince Harry’s charity work in tandem with her keynote appearance at the One Young World Summit in Manchester in September 2022. According to the outlet, the project would have included features in both the magazine’s physical and digital editions, but Meghan wanted more:

“The duchess and her team had high expectations and were expecting she might get a print cover or at least a digital cover out of it, but Enninful was not able to meet those expectations. He already had a magazine cover in the bag for that month.”

The September 2022 British Vogue cover star in question, of course, being Linda Evangelista.

So, according to the outlet, Meghan pulled the plug on the whole project. And it led to a falling out between her and Enninful:

“Edward was furious to have lost the project, as were the powers that be at Conde Nas. The whole process became very difficult. Edward could only promise her a big showy feature inside the magazine and online — but she turned it down.”

Yikes!

But that wasn’t the only reason Meghan didn’t ever end up getting a Vogue cover…

On Saturday, an insider told Page Six that the former Deal or No Deal briefcase model turned in a list of demands that the publication just could not approve… Including a “global cover” appearing front and center on both the US and UK editions. However, as we previously mentioned, Linda Evangelista was already slated for September 2022’s British cover. And Serena Williams for the US’!

So that, in addition to all Meghan’s other demands, made things impossible:

“Meghan asked for control over [the] photographer, writer, final edit, photos, cover lines, and wanted a global issue.”

But the editor just could not agree to her steep demands. The source dished:

“Nobody gets that. Not even Beyoncé.”

LOLz!

However, Meghan reportedly tried to go directly to Anna Wintour. She apparently set up a Zoom call with her in an attempt to pitch her vision… But “Anna wasn’t interested.” Meghan apparently wasn’t even in the running for the cover, but the editor agreed to meet out “to be polite”:

“Meghan asked for a Zoom with her to reconsider, and Anna did it to be polite.”

Oof…

To date, Adele is the only celebrity to ever appear simultaneously on the US and UK covers, which she did so in November 2021.

However, a separate source claimed Meghan never vied for a cover and that it was actually the magazine who approached her on multiple occasions after her and Harry’s wedding. Specifically, the source claimed Enninful asked her to be on the cover of British Vogue’s 2019 Forces for Change issue, but she opted to guest edit instead.

Meghan did ultimately get a digital cover in September 2022 — but with The Cut rather than Vogue.

Whew! Drama! What are YOUR thoughts, Perezcious readers??
