Anne Burrell was discovered by her husband, Stuart Claxton, in what we can only imagine must’ve been such a devastating and horrifying moment.
The Food Network star passed away on Tuesday morning, and according to law enforcement sources via TMZ on Wednesday, it was the chef’s spouse, whom she married in 2021, who discovered her unresponsive and lying on the floor of their shower in their Brooklyn home.

According to the insiders, Stuart last saw the TV personality alive at around 1 a.m. the night before (remember, she’d performed at an improv show for The Second City New York earlier in the evening). Just hours later when he went into their bathroom, she was unconscious. He called 911 (shortly before 8 a.m.) and the operator told him to perform CPR; however, the 55-year-old’s body was already cold. It’s unclear if he attempted CPR or not, but when EMS arrived, they tried but were unable to revive the Worst Cooks in America host.
The New York Fire Department previously said they were called to the home for a reported cardiac arrest. An official cause of death has not been shared at this time.
So, so sad.
