OMG Is Colleen Hoover Using Her Cryptic Comments On Blake Lively & Justin Baldoni Drama To Promote Her Next Book?!

This new fan theory is startling — and maybe totally on point?!

If you’re into the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni drama, you know the It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover JUST broke her silence on the actors’ lawsuit controversy and feud. She spoke with Elle in an article published on Thursday, revealing she finds the whole “circus” really “sad.” She was prepping to be deposed at the time and “trying to stay removed from the negativity” of the lawsuit. However, she went out of her way to tease:

“I have my own story I could tell … but I don’t want to bring attention to it, and I don’t want to have to put someone else down to lift myself up. So, I’d rather just ignore it and let people think and say what they’re going to say.”

A very eye-catching comment. You all wanna know what tea she has to spill, right?? And yet she’s not going to tell us? So, why even say that? She must know it’s only going to draw more attention to her! Well… there may be a very strategic reason why.

You see, fans have been up in arms over Colleen’s new interview. It’s a mixed bag of reactions. But one person on Reddit had a really shocking theory to the above comment, in particular, suggesting the crypticness was 100% intentional:

“She is just playing up her new book which she is saying was inspired by the lawsuit (aka not the actual lawsuit but how it impacts her, but as a fictional story.)

She wants people to wonder about her side. Then she releases book, people are curious if there are any hidden Easter eggs or tea, she makes bucks from both fans and people who are interested enough to be curious to her side.

I work in author book marketing. She’s not my client, but I recognize the spin. Most authors dont get to use a highly publicly followed legal case to get attention.

She is very much benefiting from the publicity.”

OMG!!!

Now THAT’s an inneresting theory!!

The writer’s new book Woman Down comes out in January, and per the synopsis, it seems VERY inspired by her real life! It reads:

“Her words used to set the page on fire. But a viral backlash over her latest film adaptation forced Petra Rose to take a hiatus, resulting in missed deadlines and an overdue mortgage. Branded a fraud and fame-hungry opportunist, she learned the hard way what happens when the internet turns on you. And she’s been uninspired to write ever since.

Now, with her next suspense novel outlined and savings nearly gone, she retreats to a secluded lakeside cabin, hoping to find inspiration. It’s Petra’s last-ditch attempt to save her career–and herself.

Then he shows up.”

WOW. That feels spot on to reality!

The synopsis continues:

“Detective Nathaniel Saint arrives with disturbing news, his presence igniting a creativity in her she thought long since burned out. Petra’s words return in a rush, and her fictional cop character begins to mirror the very real cop who’s becoming her muse.

Their ‘research’ sessions blur the lines between fantasy and reality. Each glance, every touch pulls Petra deeper into a world she thought she’d never lose herself in again. She’s never felt more alive. But inspiration this powerful comes at a cost.

When Saint starts taking his role in her career a little too seriously, Petra’s forced to confront the chaos she created. But doing so could cost her more than the reputation she’s been trying to salvage. The reputation the world wrote for her―the reputation only she can reclaim.”

Uhhh, this was totally inspired by her life, right?? Uninspired author in the middle of a media crisis from a movie adaptation? Ding ding ding ding!

This fan might be on to something with this PR theory…
