Can someone just give Orlando Bloom a big ol’ hug or something?
The 48-year-old star is absolutely going through it right now amid his difficult split from Katy Perry. (Of course, she’s also going through it, too. Ugh.) As we’ve been reporting, it was revealed a few weeks back that the A-list actor and the 40-year-old pop superstar called it quits earlier this year after spending nearly a decade together.
It’s been made all the more difficult by the fact that the pair shares 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove together, too. And though they are co-parenting as well as can be expected, this has not been easy for anyone involved.

Case in point: Orlando’s Instagram activity. Heck, just days ago the silver screen star dropped a few heartbreaking messages on the app. And on Wednesday, he was at it again.
The English-born thespian took to the social media network to post a whole lotta quotes attributed to the late psychiatrist Carl Jung. No, seriously. Jung, who died in 1961, was the inventor of analytical psychology and is considered to be one of the last century’s foremost minds focused on, well, the human mind.
So, Orlando went deep with some thoughtful — and painful — quotes. Seriously, take this first one as a prime example of proof that Bloom is struggling to navigate life after splitting up from the pop princess:
“Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself.”
Oof.
That one pretty much speaks for itself in the context of his breakup with the Dark Horse crooner, doesn’t it? Yikes. Big yikes.

Sadly, Bloom was far from through with the sad-posting. A second quote Bloom took from an IG account called @Sapienkind covered addiction to substances or “idealism,” as Jung put it:
“Every form of addiction is bad, no matter whether the narcotic be alcohol, morphine or idealism.”
While a third quote cut REALLY deep and went to, frankly, a very dark place:
“People will do anything, no matter how absurd, to avoid facing their own souls.”
A fourth quote dealt with judgmental people:
“Thinking is difficult, that’s why most people judge.”
While a fifth missive circled back to the themes of happiness and sadness:
“Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.”
From there, Bloom re-shared Jung’s very depressing take on the human condition:
“About a third of my cases are suffering from no clinically definable neurosis, but from the senselessness and emptiness of their lives. This can be defined as the general neurosis of our times.”
Along with a thought about how “tortured” people go on to torment others:
“The healthy man does not torture others — generally it is the tortured who turn into torturers.”
Before wrapping it all up on, uhhh, a high note, uhhh, maybe?? Bloom capped it with this:
“We are not what happened to us, we are what we choose to become.”
Ch-ch-check it all out (below):
Damn.
It’s… a lot. Reactions, y’all? Share ’em (below).
