Orlando Bloom Thought Katy Perry Going To Space Was ‘Stupid’ — He ‘Knew She Would Get Backlash’!

Katy Perry‘s controversial trip to space not only hurt the environment — it hurt her romance!

The pop star was among an all-female Blue Origin flight crew that launched to space for a quick SpaceX trip in April. While the mission was a success, it instantly drew a ton of backlash — and Katy was one of the so-called astronauts who faced the most criticism. Whether it was for the way she revealed her set list in space or dramatically kissed the ground upon her return, viewers — from celebs to everyday critics — had a LOT to say!

Orlando and the couple’s 4-year-old daughter Daisy were present for the historic launch in Texas, and Katy even said in a radio interview that her partner was “all about the journey.” But sources now claim that’s total BS!

Spilling the tea, insiders told The US Sun on Thursday that the Pirates of the Caribbean alum “did not think going on the mission was a good idea.” In fact, he totally called the outcome!

An insider said he “knew she would get backlash” and was left feeling “frustrated” and “disappointed” with her decision. The confidant dished:

“From day one, Orlando didn’t think going on the Blue Origin mission was a good idea, and knew she would face backlash. … He always thought it was a stupid idea and she wouldn’t get anything positive out of it.”

Seems like he was right!

The fact Katy didn’t seem to care about his POV really did damage to the relationship, too:

“He has been frustrated that his opinion is not being taken seriously or even heard. He feels she is a different person lately.”

Yikes.

Maybe this has to do with why Katy’s also reportedly blaming Orlando for her album flop and bad tour reviews? Perhaps she didn’t trust his advice then either and is now taking her frustration out on him? Hmm.

This comes amid reports that the couple’s romance is “over” and that they’re living separate lives. This new source confirmed the rumors, acknowledging the (former?) lovebirds have hit a “rough patch” and are doing their own thing for now. That said, they’ve split up before, so we’ll see if this one sticks.

What a bummer…
