Peru to impose state of emergency in Lima after Gen Z protests turn deadly

A week after Peru’s Congress voted to impeach then president Dina Boularte, the country’s interim administration on Thursday said it would declare a state of emergency in the capital Lima after youth-led protests turned deadly. A rapper was killed in clashes with police while discontent over rising corruption and crime is running high.
