PlayStation Plus confirms big horror games for October 2025

Sony has confirmed what titles will be coming to PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra this October – check out the full list below.

PlayStation Plus is Sony’s version of Xbox Game Pass, with subscribers able to access a library of games and take advantage of a variety of online features across three different tiers. 

Essential gives players access to a select number of games that rotate monthly, as well as enabling online multiplayer for £6.99 a month. Extra is available for £10.99 and gives subscribers access to Game Catalogue, a library of “hundreds of games from genre-defining blockbusters to innovative indies”. Premium adds more classic titles and game trials to the offering for £13.49 a month.

Earlier this month, Sony confirmed a trio of games that will be available to Essential subscribers this OctoberAlan Wake 2, Goat Simulator 3 and Cocoon

Now the games for Extra and Premium subscribers have been confirmed. “This month, October’s Game Catalog lineup brings plenty of thrills for spooky season. Step into a fog-shrouded nightmare in the chilling remake of Silent Hill 2, survive a night of terror in the definitive PS5 edition of the slasher horror Until Dawn, embrace your inner vampire and stalk the night in V Rising, or, in an entirely different register, join Ichiban Kasuga and his unlikely crew of outcasts in a quest for the truth in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Meanwhile, Tekken 3 brings arcade fighting action to PlayStation Plus Premium,” reads a blog post from Sony. 

All the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium games coming October 2025:

Silent Hill 2 (PS5) – October 21 for Premium and Extra
Until Dawn (PS5) – October 21 for Premium and Extra
V Rising (PS5) – October 21 for Premium and Extra
Yakuza: Like A Dragon (PS4, PS5) – October 21 for Premium and Extra
Poppy Playtime: Chapter One (PS4, PS5) – October 21 for Premium and Extra
As Dusk Falls (PS4, PS5) – October 21 for Premium and Extra
Wizard With A Gun (PS5) – October 21 for Premium and Extra
Tekken 3 (PS5, PS4) – October 21 for Premium

Sony has confirmed Playstation Plus will be “shifting focus” to the PS5 from the start of 2026. “PS4 games will no longer be a key benefit and will only be occasionally offered for PlayStation Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog starting January 2026,” explained a statement. “We may still provide titles that can be playable on both PS4 and PS5 consoles after this date.”

Earlier this week, a new report claimed the PS6 will launch in 2027 alongside a handheld, Nintendo Switch 2 rival.

In other news, critics have praised Pokémon Legends: Z–A as one of the best modern games in the long-running franchise.
