We can’t believe we’re typing these words, but Prince William made his Dancing With The Stars debut this week! Yes, DWTS and not Strictly! LOLz!
On Tuesday night’s episode, Robert Irwin and Witney Carson revealed they got a special video chat during rehearsals from none other than the Prince of Wales! Whoa! The wildlife conservationist was supposed to join William at the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, on November 5. However, he had to cancel because he’s still doing so well in the competition.

Well, William didn’t forget about him! He surprised the pair with a video chat instead! Here’s how it went! Robert immediately asked him about Rio, to which the royal replied:
“Going really well. The finalists this year are really going to go on and save the world. We’re missing you, Robert. Whilst your twinkle toes are going off elsewhere, I need you down here.”
Talking to Witney, Prince William had one request for her! He said:
“You need to get him in as much glitter as you can.”
Ha! Please! Robert wasn’t too thrilled about the idea, but Witney insisted she was “trying.” Maybe for the finale — if they make it that far! We’ll see! William is rooting for them to win the whole thing, though! He concluded the call:
“You guys have got a serious good chance of winning. Best of luck on the show.”
Wow!!!
After William hung up, Witney was in complete shock, saying:
“I can’t believe he just said my name.”
What a once-in-a-lifetime experience to chat with the prince! Robert then added:
“We are doing this dance for Bindi, and we’re doing this dance for Prince William. So, let’s not mess this up!”
No pressure! Watch the brief cameo (below):

Fortunately, Robert and Witney went on to do a beautiful job. They performed a foxtrot to Footprints in the Sand by Leona Lewis as a dedication to his late father, Steve Irwin. That alone likely brought viewers to tears, but to really pack an emotional punch, the partners brought out the 21-year-old’s sister, Bindi Irwin, who won the Mirrorball Trophy in Season 21. Awwww…
The performance earned Robert and Witney their first perfect score of the season, so clearly they nailed it. Watch the touching piece (below):
Perhaps Robert needs a pep talk from Prince William for every remaining week of the competition! Reactions, Perezcious readers? Are you rooting for him to win the show? Let us know in the comments!
