Qatar did what the U.S. and Israel asked. The missiles came anyway

The Israeli attack on a Hamas residence in Qatar represents a reversal from years in which the U.S. was content to let Qatar host figures from Hamas and the Taliban and provide a neutral venue for the talks that ended the Afghan war, among others. Israel has also worked with the Qataris to foster Hamas.
