R. Kelly Rushed To Hospital After Alleged Overdose — He Claims Prison Staff Are Trying To Kill Him

R. Kelly believes his prison staff are out to get him after an alleged murder plot gone wrong!

The rapper, who is currently serving 31 years in prison for racketeering, sex trafficking, and child porn charges, survived an overdose earlier this month that he now claims was a result of Bureau of Prisons staff at his federal center in North Carolina trying to kill him. What?! He thinks the staff want him dead??

In a court filing submitted by his attorney, Beau B. Brindley, on Monday and obtained by TMZ, R. Kelly alleges while he was in solitary confinement on the night of June 12, a staffer gave him more medication than usual. The next morning, he supposedly felt faint and dizzy. He fell to the ground as he attempted to stand up, then “crawled to the door of the cell and lost consciousness.”

He was later rushed to the Duke University Hospital, and he claims that during the drive there he overheard a prison officer complain:

“This is going to open a whole new can of worms.”

The musician was bedridden in the hospital for two days, and while there, he discovered he’d been given an amount of his prescribed meds that could’ve killed him.

He also accused the prison staff of taking away his necessary blood-thinner meds as well as refusing to let him undergo a doctor-recommended operation to remove blood clots in his legs and lungs, which left untreated are putting his life at stake. Doctors discovered the blood clots during his brief hospital stay and the surgery would have required him to stay for another two weeks. Within an hour after the officers assigned to Kelly at the hospital checked in with officials at the prison, he was “taken from the hospital against his will and against the directives of the doctors” and returned to solitary confinement,  where he’s convinced he’ll either be killed or left to die.

Because of all this, the 58-year-old wants out! He’s requested a temporary release to home confinement because he truly believes his life depends on it. But because this is the third time he’s made this request since getting locked up — and it comes amid other murder plot allegations — the law just ain’t having it!

In a response to the filing, an Assistant United States Attorney argued that Kelly continues to paint himself as a victim. The official declared:

“This is the behavior of an abuser and a master manipulator on display.”

The Assistant United States Attorney also accused the convict of knowingly submitting the action to a court that has no jurisdiction over his case. Why do that? The legal professional believes it was a ploy to “write to let this Court know that he is ‘cold’ in prison, and to criticize the medical care that he is receiving” in order to turn his situation “into a grocery store checkout aisle tabloid.” They even accused him of making a mockery of the harm suffered by his victims via these legal moves.

Yeah, he’s getting NO sympathy for his situation!

As mentioned, Kelly’s filing comes a week after his legal team previously fought for his immediate release due to another murder plot. At that time, they filed a sworn statement from another inmate at the facility, an Aryan Brotherhood gang leader named Mikeal Glenn Stine, who alleged authorities bribed him with release from prison if he murdered Kelly.

Mikeal originally accepted the deal, but later changed his mind and told the disgraced producer. Kelly believes his life is still in danger, claiming another member of the gang had subsequently been asked to kill both him and Stine.

It remains to be seen if his latest attempt to get out will work, but the murder plot claims don’t seem to be winning over anyone just yet! Do y’all think his life is really in danger? Or is he just desperate to get home?? Share your thoughts (below)!
