After far-right candidate George Simion claimed more than 41 percent of ballots cast in the first round of Romania’s presidential vote rerun, current Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, whose party came in third, resigned from his post on Monday, claiming the results showed the ruling coalition has “no legitimacy”.
