More than 36,000 civilians have fled el-Fasher since the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces captured the army’s last stronghold in the Darfur region. The UN and other NGOs have been warning about possible mass killings and ethnic cleansing, after hundreds were found dead in a hospital. Some that fled have sought refuge in Tawila – a town some 70 kilometres to the west – that is already sheltering around 650,000 displaced people. Warning : some viewers may find images disturbing.
