Samsung’s newest premium phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, is the thinnest folding phone yet. It’s normally a bit pricey, but if you’re into foldables, I called it the “the best foldable you can get” in my review. That’s why it’s great news that it’s getting some hefty launch discounts, just in time for Labor Day.
Previously, we wrote that the 512GB version, which has a bit more storage space, had dropped in price by $340. That took it down from $2,120 to $1,780, but if that’s still a bit too rich for your blood, now you can get the 256GB version for $1,700.
That’s not quite as much value as the deal on the 512GB version, since it only takes this model’s usual $2,000 price tag down by $300. But it is also currently the cheapest way to get this industry-leading device.
The deal’s also available for all colorways, whereas the $340 sale only applies to the 512GB phone in black (you can also get a gray 512GB version on sale, although the discount isn’t quite as good as on the black model, only bringing the phone’s price down to $1,820).
The Galaxy Z Fold 7, if money is no object, is a dang good phone. It’s powerful, bright, long-lasting, has a decent camera setup for a foldable, and comes with an improved cover screen and a massive 8-inch internal display. Personally, I do think that app support for that large screen is a little lacking at the moment, so I’d normally question spending extra for it. But these deals help take some of the sting out of that price tag. There’s nothing to dislike about this phone—it’s usually just a matter of whether its bonuses are worth it.
And now that you can get one for $1,700, that question just got a lot easier to answer. It’s still pricey—you can get Samsung’s non-folding flagship, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, for around $1,300—but it might be just affordable enough now to be worth the splurge, depending on how much you like big screens.
This deal is currently available at both Amazon and Best Buy.
