The French city of Annecy is hosting the 49th edition of the world’s biggest animation film festival this week. Some 17,000 people are expected to attend this year as the festival marks 10 years of pushing for gender parity. Organisers are hoping it will be a chance to highlight women’s voices in a field where they’re still underrepresented. Jade Lévin and Yinka Oyetade report.
