US President Donald Trump’s wide-reaching “Liberation Day” tariffs have come crashing down on countries that rely heavily on the export of low-cost garments and textiles to the US. But while Trump’s levies seem unlikely to bring textile factories back to the US, they could be devastating for millions of low-wage garment workers already living hand to mouth.
