Sudan’s humanitarian crisis: UN chief says nearly two-thirds of country needs aid

UN Humanitarian Chief Tom Fletcher visited refugee camps in Tawila and Korma in North Darfur during a week-long mission to Sudan, where he met with survivors and aid workers confronting the fallout of the ongoing civil war. He described the conditions facing civilians as “desperate,” warning that they continue to shoulder the heaviest burden of the conflict. Laurent Berstecher reports.
