Donald Trump’s rumbling conflict with the judiciary burst into open confrontation on Tuesday as the Supreme Court’s chief justice issued a rare statement seemingly aimed at the president’s comments. In a post on his social media platform, Trump had called for a district judge to be impeached after he ruled against a move by his administration to use an 18th century wartime law to deport alleged Venezuelan gang members.
