Though it’s the first federal election that saw Canadian news banned from being shared on Meta platforms, Canadians were blasted with misleading and fake political content ahead of the vote. According to an analysis by the Financial Times, a coordinated network of accounts on X attacked the Liberal’s Mark Carney and boosted positive content of the Conservatives’ Pierre Poilievre.
