Madison Prewett is getting real about her struggles.
On the newest episode of her Stay True podcast this week, The Bachelor Season 24 alum laid it all on the table. And we mean ALL. Madi admitted she suffered from a “porn and masturbation” addiction and had to quit.
Now, OBVIOUSLY there’s nothing inherently wrong with masturbation… in fact, doctors say it’s healthy! For most people that’s true. But when you can’t control yourself? It is possible to get addicted.
In Madison’s personal experience, it sounds like things got really intense for her. She said during the episode:
“Thankfully, by the grace of God and by the power of Godly community and people around me, I have been free from porn and masturbation for, I don’t even know, 10 years. That was something that enslaved me and marked me for so long.”
Wow. That’s not something people often talk about or admit to. But we guess now that she’s over it she feels more confident? But back then it was a problem for a devout Christian. She went on to say it put a strain on her relationship with her faith:
“No matter how much I loved Jesus, I could not shake that sin. I could not break free from porn and masturbation.”
The 29-year-old said her curiosity started when she was still in her early teens, and it spiraled from there:
“I had already had moments of being curious about things and having certain feelings or wondering certain things or fantasizing about certain things. I had not told that to anyone. I had not pursued to do anything about that, but I was curious, and I was about 13 years old. I went over to a friend’s house and her parents weren’t around and she turned on this show that was extremely inappropriate.”
She said she didn’t remember what the show was called, but she described it as “like The Bachelor, but way worse” because “literally everyone was naked”. It was at that moment Madi said she started feeling “desire” and “things that I had never felt before,” which led to her looking up porn online and eventually getting into the habit of masturbation.

These feelings would leave her shameful, as she said she “wanted to live a life for Jesus”. She also mentioned how this was something she felt like she couldn’t talk about because it was “not something a girl should struggle with”. Hmm.
Is that what happened to Madi? Or did her religion just tell her doing it at all was shameful? That’s not entirely clear… but this quote makes us wonder:
“I questioned my worth and my identity. Every time I gave in to sexual sin, I didn’t know my purpose.”
That doesn’t sound like healthy view… But it does sound like she really had a problem! The Bachelor Nation alum said it “bled into” her relationships, too, making them way more complicated. So she made the move to “break free” from all that.
Hey, if this was the right choice for her, then awesome, right?
