As the war in Gaza is about to enter into its second year, FRANCE 24’s Delano D’Souza welcomes Fady Hossam, a Gaza journalist and former FRANCE 24 producer recently evacuated with help from FRANCE 24 and the French government. Hossam offers a gripping account of life under siege: civilians, journalists, doctors, and aid workers struggling to survive. Once known for militant rhetoric, he now speaks with empathy, resilience, and hope, urging Hamas and Israel to end the suffering through a ceasefire and humanitarian access. “We saw so much suffering,” he says, “in the camps, the tents, the hospitals. It’s unfathomable what’s happening in Gaza in 2025.”
