Thousands of protesters on Friday took to the streets in support of arrested Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, Erdogan’s chief political rival. Critics have said the arrest was politically motivated and accused President Erdogan of weaponising the criminal justice system, reports FRANCE 24’s Jasper Mortimer from Ankara, Turkey.
