Thousands protested across Indonesia following anger over lavish perks for lawmakers, leading to six deaths and military deployment in Jakarta. While protests near the parliament were peaceful after President Prabowo Subianto called for an end by sundown, clashes erupted elsewhere, including in Gorontalo and Bandung, where police used tear gas and water cannons. Demonstrations also took place in Palembang, Banjarmasin, Yogyakarta, and Makassar.
