It was reported by Deadline that on September 19, while filming at Watford’s Leavesden Studios, the actor suffered a concussion after a stunt gone awry. Filming was suspended and the after he was taken to the hospital and given a break from filming for a few days to recover.

Holland briefly addressed the situation while posting about his attendance for a gala for The Brothers Trust, a charity foundation set up by his parents. While discussing the night, he apologised for leaving early and offered an update on his injury on his Instagram account.

“What a night! Another huge success,” Holland wrote. “The Brothers Trust means more to me than I could possibly say and I have to say a huge thank you to my Mum and her wonderful friends for putting on another incredible night.

“Raising money for fantastic causes and having fun doing it! I’m sorry I had to leave early but I’m feeling better and on the mend. A huge thanks to my Dad for taking over after I left. The show got considerably funnier.”

At the time of writing, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still slated to be released July 31, 2026. The film sees the return of Holland’s fiancée and co-star Zendaya, with new additions including Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher.

In July, Tom Holland discussed the difference in shooting his latest Marvel adventure compared to 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. “I think we were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of COVID; we shot the entire film on stages” he said, “Now, we’re really gonna lean into that old-school filmmaking and shoot in real locations.”
